Seachem The Bag – Welded Filter Bag 180 Micron

The Bag from Seachem is a high-quality welded filter bag designed for use with all types of aquarium filtration media. Unlike traditional stitched filter bags, The Bag™ features a non-stitched welded seam that is highly resistant to chemical degradation, giving it an exceptionally long service life.

With a 180 micron mesh, The Bag™ provides excellent water flow while securely holding fine filtration media such as resins, carbon, phosphate removers and other specialty media. The resealable locking closure makes it easy to fill, empty and reuse the bag as needed.

Why welded seams matter

Traditional filter bags with stitched seams can degrade over time when exposed to bleach, caustics, acids or other harsh chemicals used to regenerate filter media. The Bag™ avoids this problem by using welded seams, which are far more resistant to these conditions and help prevent splitting and leakage.

However, some care is still required: avoid overfilling or over-packing the bag. Excessive pulling forces can cause even welded seams to separate if the bag is stuffed too tightly.
